INT-Doctors Without Borders US Site
Comments: Good source of unpaid internships in New York. Work/Study or course credit can be obtained where applicable.

INT-Global Alliance for Africa
Comments: Volunteers provide educational, technical and medical services at several local sites in Arusha. Positions can include: Teaching at a primary school in Arusha, Tanzania; teaching English and/or computer skills to adults at the Tumaini Center in Arusha; working in hospitals or medical facilities in urban or rural areas of Tanzania or Kenya; or assisting in Global Alliance research and data collection for future initiatives in Africa. Teachers must have a diploma, certificate, or concentrated coursework in the subject area in which they are teaching.

INT-Global Health Directory
Comments: This site has a nice organization search engine, which provides background information on various health establishments. In the job portion of the website, there are employment and volunteer opportunities listed as well as any current internships from various employers, however you must register to access them. They also have some resources on topics including HIV, Nutrition, and reproductive health. A unique feature is the "What You Can Do" section, which provides opportunities for advocacy and learning about legislation.

INT-Global Service Corps
Comments: Volunteer programs in Tanzania and Thailand run year- round to provide service in the areas of health, environment and education. Programs can be short term (2-4 weeks) or Long Term (6 weeks to 1 year.) Healthcare programs can provide experiences such as assisting doctors or presenting workshops on HIV/AIDS prevention. Program fee: Yes.

INT-Health Volunteers Overseas
Comments: A volunteer organization providing amazing programs listed by medical field and then by location. Fellowships or other funding may be available. Program Fee: Yes

INT-Institute for International Cooperation and Development (IICD)
Comments: Non-profit organization that trains and sends volunteers to work on educational, environmental, agricultural, health education and community development projects in Africa, Latin America and India. INT-International Medical Volunteers Association
Comments: IMVA is a clearinghouse of information relating to medical volunteerism overseas. Though geared primarily toward healthcare professionals, the website has a students' corner, and many of the volunteer-seeking agencies profiled welcome college and medical students. Program Fee: Varies by opportunity and organization.

INT-Operation Crossroads Africa
Comments: This organization provides programs in African countries during the summer. The programs last 7-12 weeks, with projects in areas such as: community health/medical outreach, community construction/development, agriculture/reforestation, education/training, and women's development. Program Fee: Yes; covers international airfare, orientation costs, in-country transportation, materials, food, accommodations, all scheduled program expenses, visas, and international health insurance.

INT-Student Partnerships Worldwide (SPW)
Comments: SPW is an international non-profit non-governmental organization that offers voluntary service programs working on development in sub-Saharan Africa and south Asia. We offer 4-11 month health education and environment programs in India, Nepal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. Every year we recruit and train nearly 900 young people aged 18-28 to join our programs overseas. We ask each International Volunteer to make a commitment to raise a minimum of $6,400 USD. SPW will provide the following for you: * Round-trip flight * Comprehensive health insurance * Work Visa * 4-6 weeks of training from national and international NGOs in behavior change theory, non-formal education practices, program specific information (such as cultural and language lessons) and monitoring and evaluation techniques * Accommodations, food, and in country travel * Pre-departure training in fundraising, health, and safety * In country support The best way to hear about our programs is to speak with staff and returned volunteers over a FREE conference call. All conference calls are advertised on our website.

INT-Students for International Change (SIC)
Comments: Volunteer for 8 or 11.5 week programs to teach about HIV/AIDS prevention and care in schools and village groups in Tanzania. Volunteers mostly live with a host family. Program fee covers meals and travel within the country, as well as project-related costs.

INT-Students Partnership Worldwide
Comments: Volunteer for 4-9 months to help create sustainable health and environmental programs in rural Africa and Asia. Required one month intensive training from overseas offices. Support is available before, during and after the program. Program Fee: Yes.

INT-Unite for Sight
Comments: Volunteers work at eye clinics in Africa and Asia.

INT-United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
Comments: Internships are available for students who have completed their Bachelors and/or are a graduate level student. Job opportunities in the health fields exist in health education.

Comments: Great comprehensive work database. A pull-down menu makes it easy to get to the internships page, including major related opportunities. Can also search by geographic location for different organizations.

INT-Youth Challenge International
Comments: YCI offers 10-week projects in Costa Rica and Guyana. Health related projects include health education and assisting ophthalmologists. Program Fee: Yes
