in Germany. Seminars in Berlin, Paris, Strasbourg
and Brussels provide a meaningful understanding
of issues facing the European Union and Germany
today. Candidates are competitively chosen
from the fields of business administration,
economics, journalism and mass communications,
law, political science and public affairs/public
policy. Duration: 9 months.
Chateaubriand Fellowships in France

Scholarship program with strong focus
on the cultural experience, designed to give
participants understanding of life, education,
and professional training in Germany. Intended
primarily for young adults (18-24 years old)
in business, technical, vocational, and agricultural
fields. Duration: 12 months.

Five month traineeship offered twice a year
to approximately 600 EU members and some
non-member country applicants. Traineeship
can occur in a number of departments in the areas of international
affairs, and economics, but can also include the areas of computer
sciences, agricultural technology, education studies, bio-chemical
engineering, health and food safety, energy management, auditors,
aerospace engineering, psychology, financial management, design,
multimedia, and sports management. Competitive application
process and language requirements may occur. Grants are available
to some applicants. Deadlines: September 1 and March 1.

Ambassadorial scholarships are awarded by this organization for single
or multi-year study abroad or intensive language study abroad. Applications
for these scholarships are due approximately 18 months before the

Public Policy and International Affairs Fellowship www.ppiaprogram.org
The PPIA Fellowship
Program is designed to prepare college juniors or rising college
seniors, especially from diverse communities, for graduate study
in public policy, public administration and international affairs.
Accepted students will attend a Junior Summer Institute (JSI) at
one of our five locations for 7-weeks from June through August. The
JSI curriculum is designed to improve students analytic and communication
skills through three areas of study - economics,
statistics, and policy analysis/writing. The program is fully funded
including cost of tuition, housing, meals, and transportation,
plus $1,000+ stipend.
